We are proud and happy to have participated in the workshop organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the use of artificial intelligence and satellites to assess the impact of floods in Southeast Asian regions.
By about 70 ADB staff, consultants and external counterparts participated in this workshop, where EarthPulse presented the results of the analysis done in two areas affected by floods recently: Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia in October 2020 and Dili, Timor-Leste in April 2021.
For these two regions, EarthPulse showcased the results of its Impact Pulse, an aggregated indicator combining satellite data and open datasets, and applying artificial intelligence over them to quantify the observed damage from weather extreme events in a scalable way.
This is a very insightful output that can help prioritize relief and support operations and investment decisions for country disaster risk analysis in the region.
